The deathcore genre is so overpopulated with the same old thing and lately no one is really doing anything to progress the genre to new heights… until now. Enter: The Contortionist, a progressive deathcore band who are remarkably unsigned (my guess is not for very long).

At first it’s easy to cast this aside as another sub par deathcore album, but after a few listens you really get a feel for the raw talent that these boys hold. They have the potential to skyrocket the deathcore scene into something huge. Their “Deathprog” sound as I have dubbed it is very refreshing. One moment the heaviness is enough to push you to your knees and the next moment you’re left in awe at the almost celestial sound and melody of calmness.

This is THE band that will finally progress a boring genre and I’ll be dammed if they don’t end up your new favourite. I don’t want to give away too much about this album; you almost have to hear it to believe it.
